When I had first read this article in the Mail, I had nearly spilt sherry over my lap.

It's terrible when a child is lost and I can't even begin to imagine the pain felt but is a prime time chat show on ITV, in front of a live studio audience really necessary?

Further to that, is Piers Morgan really necessary? In any way?

Am I the only one who doesn't like the new layout of the Politics Home site?

Is there still a live feed and if not, why not?

I went on there today and was greeted by a massive image of Brown and Sarkozy in an almost snog. Breakfast was quickly pushed aside...

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the site. I found it to be a great one-stop-shop for goings on in Westminster but now I find it frustrating.

Maybe it's me.

And there it is....damn it!

President Vaclav Klaus has signed the Lisbon treaty and it will be become law before the end of the year. As you can imagine, the government is tickled pink with joy and EU love.

Bastards!

The Conservatives have given up their fight for the referendum and who can blame them? A referendum on a ratified treaty is pointless. My anger and fury is not aimed at them but at the governing party who lied to us. The same party who are now taking the piss and spinning this into Cameron breaking his promise.

That's fine. Keep going Labour, keep spitting in our faces and laughing as you do because we won't forget come election day.

Tomorrow the Leader of the Opposition will lay out a (hopefully) detailed plan about what will be done if they win the election.
Will we be disappointed? Will there be a twist to the story? Will Dave pull a rabbit out of his hat?

The Telegraph is reporting that Michael Caine is switching from Labour to the Conservatives.
He's had enough and wants to give Cameron a chance.

The government wants to use the 2011 census to find out just that little bit more about us.
According to the BBC -

For the first time, people will be asked to provide details of the number of bedrooms they have as well as the names, sex and birth dates of any overnight guests in their homes.

Other new questions include how well people can speak English, the date overseas nationals entered the UK, how people define their national identity and whether they are in civil partnerships.

Those who do not complete the census risk being prosecuted while those giving false answers face being fined.

My father never voted in his life, never filled in a census form and never wanted to have any contact with the government. He's never explained why and I'll probably find out something sinister after he dies, like he killed a priest or sold info to the KGB or something.

If the government said "give us this personal information about yourself and your family or go to prison" he'd tell them to piss off and wait while he packed his bags.
It's likely that he won't live to see something like that happen so it will be down to me to say it instead.

We're still in recession. There's no two ways about it, we're fucked.

Today Alistair Darling told reporters that he'd said all along that the recession would last till the end of this year. Really? You sure Alistair because I remember differently. I also remember reading this.

“Output will continue to fall in the UK, for the first two quarters of next year,” he said today. ”But then, because of decisions taken in this Pre-Budget Report, I expect it to start to recover.”

This was said in November 2008 but maybe I was drunk at the time and imagined it all...

Why does the prime minister decide troop numbers? I can understand that back in the day, when our MP and leaders were ex-military men but why now? Gordon Brown wouldn't know the bang bang end of a rifle of you shoved it up his arse and pulled the trigger!
His distain for the British Armed Forces is clear for everyone to see. How he has managed to survive several trips to Iraq and Afghanistan is beyond me.

What I'm trying to say it this - I think more troops should be sent out to fight in Afghanistan and I think it should be down to the generals and experts to decide how many. Not a crackpot wannabe dictator and his ex-union cronies but real soldiers on the ground.

Two years ago, the delightful gentleman who calls himself our PM went for a trip to Iraq.
While he was there he announced that the troops numbers would fall and he was such a smashing chap! Of course he failed to mention 500 of those troops had been sent back and were already on home turf. Using our troops for a photo shoot Gordon? Tut tut.
It's normally considered a no-no to make big announcements during the Opposition party's conference but that's what Gordon did.
At the time the PM and his group of slugs (his cabinet) were slagged off for the stunt. And why not I say? It's just not cricket!

Tomorrow George Osborne will be making policy announcements, the likes of which will no doubt send me into a wirl of confusion however I will try my hardest to understand all the financial jargon.
What will the government do tomorrow? In typical bastard style, they too are making Treasury announcements. Apparently wee Alistair Darling will freeze public sector pay for 2 years.

I wonder if he picked the timing of this or Gordon did...

I've never called myself a feminist, rather its a term people have used for me. The word brings to mind women like Polly Toynbee, Jo Brand and Harriet Harman.
These women believe they speak for and stand up for all other females. Well I don't need or want them to speak for me. I don't need someone to stand up for me or make it easier for me to get a job. I'll deal with it on my own thanks sweetheart!

Plus, I'm not going to take advice or help from an MP who has been stopped for speeding twice and has apparently had a car accident because she was on the phone.

Well, there you have it. The Irish have voted yes to the treaty and word has it the Czechs won't be able to hold off for too long before they have to ratify also.
I don't know what pisses me off more; not being given a chance to have a say or Tony Blair as EU President. Both are equally shit.

I'm going to be realistic about what a Tory government will be able to do should they win the next GE. I would love for them to force a referendum on the basis that Gordon Brown is a lying, traitorous coward who tried to sign it behind closed doors but I don't think that's going to happen. I know it's never going to happen.

Just for you Gordon, just for you and the jobworths you call a cabinet, I am going to dedicate my time to seeing you fall.
